CNG stations remain closed in Sindh today: SSGC

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced that compressed natural gas (CNG) stations will remain closed across Sindh on Saturday.

The SSGC spokesman said the decision had been taken to fulfill the demand of domestic and commercial customers.

“Now, CNG stations will open after 58 hours,” he said. He said the filling stations would resume providing CNG on Sunday morning at 8:00 am.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah lamented on Friday that the province had been deprived of its due share in gas supply.

He said he had written another letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan, demanding that the province be provided its constitutional rights.

“Sindh has been producing 2700 to 2900 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd).
If the province gets gas as per its demand, it can produce cheaper electricity,” the chief minister said. “At present, we are being provided less than 1200 mmcfd gas.”

The SSGC on February 1 announced that the gas supply to CNG stations across Sindh would remain suspended on February 4, 6 and 8.

The SSGC spokesperson had said that the gas supply to the Industrial sector would remain suspended on February 3 for 24 hours.
